About

Local 123 is an independently owned and operated company dedicated to coffee excellence, a locally sourced menu and community. We strive to serve the highest quality menu items and realized early on that paring down our menu and staying as fresh, local and sustainable as possible would be critical to maintaining the quality of everything we serve.

The importance of creating a green business was a no-brainer for us. We made green choices whenever possible during the remodel of our space. Our hot water and electrical energy consumption are predominantly solar powered. Our coffees, bread and pastries, dairy, produce, wines – pretty much everything on our menu – are sustainably harvested and produced. Our produce, milk and eggs are organic and locally sourced. We make a point to purchase eco-friendly and recycled-content products for packaging, cleaning, maintenance and office supplies.

Drawing on the rich coffee, wine and farm-to-table cultures of the Bay Area to which we personally feel connected, we consider ourselves more of a European café than a typical wine bar, bakery-café or third-wave coffeehouse on its own. We hope that we have succeeded in creating a warm and welcoming space where neighbors and friends can gather to enjoy delicious food and drinks, celebrate local artists, share ideas and build upon an already vibrant community.
